@Teak wood over 1200 years old is used as a main pillar in Hondo.There pillars
were produced from one large tree which was cut vertically and divided
into four parts and supports almost 100 tons of roof.
@Also four poles standing in front of the entrance were produced from
the same tree. So it is not to difficult to imagine how large the mother
tree was.
@For cloisters, American cedar wood over 600 years old are used.Since
American cedar wood withstands the rain, it is suitable for cloisters.
@For Œœ‹›(Gegyo) on the ”j•—(Hahu) at the side of the roof, over 750 years
old hemlock fir wood grown on ‰®‹v“‡(Yaku island) ; and for ‰Hª–Ø(HanegiÞ)
its garret, over 150 years old sticky Siberian cedar was used.
@Considering the fact that Hondo is made of various kinds of wood transported
from many different countries, it symbolizes that many people from all
over the world will visit here in the future.
